Can't see your code, but maybe you're editing your site zone then looking at your welcome zone or vice versa? That happens to me a lot (they have different panels)

… lost my shoutbox …

Now that is downright careless of you … !  :o

I think gabriel58 is on the right track.

I have mine set up so that registered users CAN see the shoutbox, while Guests or Visitors CANNOT. So you are either viewing the 'wrong' start page, or you've inadvertently disabled the 'view' settings for the shoutbox and disabled it for everybody.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

k even though i got the shoutbox straighten out, when i SU into a user, or a moderator name i see the following message above the right column

"This entry has not yet been validated by our staff and thus we cannot accept any responsibility for it. You followed a direct link to get to it. "

what does this mean and how to fix this. could this be something in the permission i done, if so i'm not sure which one it was when i checking it all out earlier.

Sorry if it seems i keep running into problems. and i do search the forum and check the tutorials for answers, and doing that has helped, but then there's some things i can't find anything on. If you haven't notice yet i like to break things and learn how to fix them, I don't do this on purpose but it happens when learning a new thing. Because i want to fell really comfortable with what i'm using before i even let it go completely live.

Above my pay grade. I'll let a member of the team pick up on this.

Very commendable, and the most commonsense approach with this CMS …

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Well-settled

Did you unvalidate your panel page somehow? Try locating it from under the Comcode Pages icon in the CMS zone, and see if 'Validated' got unchecked.
