How difficult to add a line in the members profile screen that is sort of a 'if member has a personal blog, show link to members blog' ?

"in the file about v8"? I don't follow I'm afraid.

v8 is in active development, there is no release schedule, and running the current development version has a roughly 100% chance of not being upgradable to the final release ;).

In your thread about v8, there is a v8.zip file about the project.  In that there is a 8.x.x directory that looks like ocPortal source.   Was just wondering if that was 'it'.   If so, is it something that can be put up and run?

Ah right. No, that is a dead fork of ocPortal that we never had the resources to complete. It was going to be v8, now v8 is entirely different and being developed from what is in github.
