Interrupted Update

Seems when I was trying to update my site last tuesday to the latest version of ocportal that things were interrupted. As such I now seem to have multiple errors across the site and it seems my backup has gone missing.

Is there any way I can do a full re-install of ocportal and keep all my data such as themes, forum posts etc?

Upgrading from what? If it was from v7 to v8.something, it would make a mess. However v8.1 has a better set of tools in the upgrader for dealing with this. If you extract the upgrade tar manually, the upgrader tools will help guide you what files related to addons you don't have and help you delete them.

I think I know what you are recommending, but this sentence has left me totally confused!

I'm not sure what version I was on. I last did an update a month or 2 ago and that went fine!

Regardless of version, my advice will probably work. After v8 was released, another user had problems and cancelled an upgrade mid-way. Improvements were then made for this kind of scenario, that dropped in v8.1.

So where do I go to access the upgrader tools?

Ok I've gone through that and it seems to have got rid of most of the problems. Thanks for all your help so far.

I seem to have some corrupt .js file relating to the chat function now, but it seems this may be related to my theme.

The other problem I am getting is a stack trace error when I click personal zone and also when I try to upgrade my theme in the upgrader.php. Things are getting better though!

Lots of users reported a chat error, lots of topics about this.

Regarding personalzone, it is deleted in v8.x, so I guess you came from v7. Just remove the link as it is integrated into member profile viewing.

Got the chat fix it's worked. So it seems we're almost all up and running now! Just need to work out how to recolour the new tabs at the top of the account screen!

Ok so the newest problem I am having is the replying to PT function doesn't seem to be working. I get this error:

Once I have had chance to discuss this with the admin team it will probably go ahead. There\'s a few more things than this to re-organise in the stewards system. I will get back to you once this is sorted.

It will probably be the back end of next week at the earliest as I have a funeral to attend early next week and I am leaving this weekend as it ias at the other side of the country!

This issue has been filed on the tracker as issue #557, with a fix.
