Hi,

Welcome to ocPortal :).

"500" errors are the same as "Internal Server Error". Look in our FAQ for this.

If guests don't have access to view downloads it's probably because your site zone isn't set to allow guests. Go to the Admin Zone, Structure, Zones, choose the site zone, and check all the permission tick boxes, and save.

SEO URLs can be enabled in the configuration.
Admin Zone, Setup, Configuration, Site options, Advanced.
You need to have placed an ocPortal .htaccess file first.
If you want .htm URLs (like we have here) there's another option to turn on (in the same place). The only problem with .htm URLs is that if you want to add a new zone you need to edit the redirect rules in the .htaccess file to include the new zone.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

If guests don't have access to view downloads it's probably because your site zone isn't set to allow guests

To access the download module you need access to the zone it's in, so you need to check the permissions of the zone.
