Just a quick question.

I am wondering if anyone here has ever tried to create an App for Droid that would run the OC Portal script well. My site works fine on Droid but it would be nice to have something a bit more optimized.

Thanks

Ryan

I'm attempting to build one at the moment, the biggest problem I'm facing at the moment is interacting with the ocPortal scripts. Will make the code available if I have any luck…

Hi there,

I am curious about this app and would like to know more about it; I have recently purchased a fairly basic android based tablet (an aPad clone) and would like to see how it could be integrated with ocPortal based websites.

The tablet itself is based on a customised version of Android 1.6 (branded 1.7.4) : do you think that the app would operate on this version of the OS?

Although I am a member of the ocProducts project management staff, I would like to make it clear that my interest is primarily for personal projects as I am not in a position to give the app any kind of official endorsement. Despite this, I am extremely glad that someone in the community is working on a project of this nature!

Any further information that you can provide will be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Haydn

I'm pretty sure that the app would work for Android 1.6 if it was compiled for that version (but don't hold me to that). At the moment I'm using a kind of hacky method, I have a bunch of php files that perform various tasks (get author lists, get article etc) and the php directly connect with the database. It's hacky but it seems to be working just fine
