I saw that you have them on the main site under forum topics and what not.
I have some thing like that for IPB and was wondering how I do it for this system?

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

I guess a warning in your line of work tends tomean 'run for cover'. Fortunately it's not so severe when it comes to computers ;).

hide

Hide some text such that it needs to be consciously expanded to see what it is. This is useful for giving warnings before viewing. For those without Javascript enabled, the text will be expanded by default.

param - the warning (defaults to a translated 'Expand' string). Supports Comcode.

Wrapped Comcode.

took that form this tut: ocPortal Tutorial: Comcode and the attachment system

it works something like this:

Expand:

Code

[hide]
you have to press this to see it
[/hide]

As far as i know they are controlled by java, and thus you have to re-open them every time.

The Hide code keeps the bar closed, if you want it to remember the user's choice i dont think i will be much of a help, because my coding skills are stuck at level 2.. ( i know what coding is and how to perform really basic things like hello world, and simple slot machines (win app.) and thats were it is at the moment )

If thats the fact, remember user's choice, then Alan / Chris / Robbie could be more of a help.

The blocks on our left hand panel are done using a little custom templating.

Old:

Code

{+START,BOX,{TITLE},13.3em,panel}
   <form action="{LOGIN_URL*}" method="post" class="autocomplete side_block_form">
      <div>
         <div class="constrain_field">
            <div class="accessibility_hidden"><label for="login_username">{!USERNAME}</label></div>
            <div class="accessibility_hidden"><label for="s_password">{!PASSWORD}</label></div>
            <input alt="{!USERNAME}" accesskey="L" class="wide_field login_block_username" type="text" onfocus="Javascript: if (this.value=='{!USERNAME;}'){ this.value=''; password.value=''; }" value="{!USERNAME}" id="login_username" name="login_username" />
            <input alt="{!PASSWORD}" class="wide_field" type="password" value="password" name="password" id="s_password" />
         </div>
         <p class="login_block_cookies">
            <label for="remember">{!REMEMBER_ME}</label> <input checked="checked" type="checkbox" value="1" id="remember" name="remember" /><br />
            <label for="login_invisible">{!INVISIBLE}</label> <input type="checkbox" value="1" id="login_invisible" name="login_invisible" />
         </p>
         <input class="wide_button" type="submit" value="{!_LOGIN}" />
      </div>
   </form>
   <p class="button_panel">
      [ <a href="{REGISTER_LINK*}">{!_JOIN}</a> | <a href="{FULL_LINK*}" title="{!_LOGIN}">{!MORE}</a> ]
   </p>
{+END}
New:

Code

<div class="standardbox_wrap_panel" style="{$?,{$GET,interlock},border-top: 0px,margin-top: 5px}; {+START,IF,{$AND,{$NEQ,auto,100%},{$NOT,{$BROWSER_MATCHES,ie}}}}width: 13.3em{+END}">
        <div class="standardbox_classic standardbox_t_panel" style="height: auto; width: 13.3em">
         <h4 class="standardbox_title_panel"><a style="float: right; padding: 5px" class="hide_button" href="#" onclick="Javascript: hideTag(this.parentNode.parentNode); return false;"><img class="blend" alt="{!EXPAND}/{!CONTRACT}" src="{$IMG*,expand}" /></a> {TITLE}</h4>
      <div class="standardbox_main_classic hide_tag" style="display: none">
   <form action="{LOGIN_URL*}" method="post" class="autocomplete side_block_form">
      <div>
         <div class="constrain_field">
            <div class="accessibility_hidden"><label for="login_username">{!USERNAME}</label></div>
            <div class="accessibility_hidden"><label for="s_password">{!PASSWORD}</label></div>
            <input alt="{!USERNAME}" accesskey="L" class="wide_field login_block_username" type="text" onfocus="Javascript: if (this.value=='{!USERNAME;}'){ this.value=''; password.value=''; }" value="{!USERNAME}" id="login_username" name="login_username" />
            <input alt="{!PASSWORD}" class="wide_field" type="password" value="password" name="password" id="s_password" />
         </div>
         <p class="login_block_cookies">
            <label for="remember">{!REMEMBER_ME}</label> <input checked="checked" type="checkbox" value="1" id="remember" name="remember" /><br />
            <label for="login_invisible">{!INVISIBLE}</label> <input type="checkbox" value="1" id="login_invisible" name="login_invisible" />
         </p>
         <input class="wide_button" type="submit" value="{!_LOGIN}" />
      </div>
   </form>
   <p class="button_panel">
      [ <a href="{REGISTER_LINK*}">{!_JOIN}</a> | <a href="{FULL_LINK*}" title="{!_LOGIN}">{!MORE}</a> ]
   </p>
      </div>
   </div>
</div>

Basically we replaced the surrounding 'BOX' with some custom HTML that suited the purposes.

There's no cookie remembering I'm afriad, but with the right Javascript it could be done like that.
