Well-settled

Ok, so I am attempting to create a site base almost entirely around the Galleries.
Problem is I don't want to the name "Galleries" to be referenced anywhere on the site.
1. How do I safely change this
2. If making any changes to this module..will it effect upgrades

I changed the name of my galleries to "Scrapbook". As I recall, I just changed the gallery entries as needed and then changed the language fields. This makes "Galleries" disappear everywhere except in URLs. I'm not brave enough to tangle with that.

I may not have changed all the instances but I know I got the major ones.

Here are 6 that need to be changed in the galleries language file:
GALLERY
GALLERIES
MODULE_TRANS_NAME_cms_galleries
MODULE_TRANS_NAME_galleries
LIST_OF_GALLERIES
GALLERIES_HOME

There may have been some in another language file (or even in this one) but I didn't make notes when I changes them - something I know I am going to regret at some point.

Oh wow, thanx Bob that is really helpful.

So in your situation you would have replaced these entries with "Scrapbook" accordingly?

Great help…you guys are awesome

Yes, I changed mine to "Scrapbook".

I may have left some things in the Admin unchanged because I wasn't too concerned about anything member-facing. It wouldn't take much effort to hunt those down if you need to.

Fan in training

Hi,

I have a question relating to the gallery module as well.

I have a gallery named "Tutorials" with multiple sub-categories.

However, I don't want the "Sub-categories" header. How do I change the header and/or remove it?

I've been searching on OcPortal and trying to figure this out myself for two hours…

I do not know which one you would use but I think you could simply modify the template for it. I would look through templates related to the gallery or block or wherever it is you have that info and look for the sub-category title and remove it from the template. (one of the more experienced members at customizing gallery might be able to direct you better but until they have time to answer you this is where I would look)
