ocPortal version 9.0.16
Browser = IE 11, latest updates installed
OS = Windows Server 2008 r2, latest updates installed
Server = 16 gig Ram, 500 gig hard drive, 388 free
Relevant PHP variables are set appropriately:
  • Memory_limit = -1 (unlimited)
  • Post_max_size = 100 meg
  • upload_max_filesize = 100 meg

HomeContent ManagementManage downloads → Filesystem downloads

If one has a DOC file or a ZIP file with just a doc file included, and the file is over 2 meg in size, the import fails with the error below.
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 36 bytes) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ocportal\sources\downloads2.php on line 624

Note that other ZIP files, PDFs, etc all upload fine. ZIP files as large as 384795k are uploading successfully.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
