Well-settled

Hi,
I wonder where to start to write function that turns youtube links directly into embedded medias.. I somewhat dont find the place to start parsing post code and therefore dont find the way to replace links with the applet/media/whatnot…

Anyone got a small hint or even solution?

Sure thing, Nachtwind.

Allen has done a very informative video tutorial on precisely this subject. It is why I was encouraged to give it a try. From that success I've managed to build custom comcode tags for other videos and for mp3's as well.

If you have a problem following the tutorial, and I don't think you will, give me a shout and I will try and explain it at a more basic (my type of) level.

This, for me, is better!

I am in control as to how I want the vid displayed (height, width, color, frame, no frame, whatever) which will then display EXACTLY THE SAME WAY for every YouTube vid posted on the site.

And my users (who I encourage to use the custom comcode tags) will also post their vids displaying exactly the same way.

Total control!
