Fan in training

Hey guys, first, I am loving ocportal, what a great piece of software, I am so impressed on what can be done, it is AMAZING! Great job to everyone involved!

Now I am making a new indie gamer community website, and the site will have a download section for people to put their latest indie games on. My question in the "show most recent downloads block" if it is possible to have a thumbnail next to the text and maybe even a line of description taken from the download itself. I created 2 images to show what I mean.

This is how it looks like now:

And this is how I am trying to make it look. -see below- The image, coming straight from the thumbnail in the download and the first line of text coming straight from the download description. I tried my best to make some code for it but everytime I fail. Hopefully someone knows if its even possible for me to do this. Thanks!

Hi,

I think you can probably do it via template editing. There are a lot of download box templates, you can probably transfer the contents of one that does use images to the one being used here (which the template tree feature should tell you).

This is something we want to clean up:

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
