hi ;)

Two silly questions…

1) Added the switch language block. On left panel, in every zone. When language is changed, it brings you back to the site zone, welcome page.
How can i make it change language and keep the zone (and page)?

2) I hate to ask this, but looked every where and can't find the answer.
When creating a new menu in a zone, how do i get the links to open in the same zone as the menu ?
i.e. menu link points to a catalogue. Catalogues are in the "site" zone. Want the catalogue to open in the zone of the link, and not switch me back to the "site" zone (which has a different theme and different left panel). I know this must be possible, but can't find how… :$

1)

I'll get back to you on this "one".

2)

You need to do two things:
a) Edit the menu so that the page-links for each menu item start _SEARCH (instead of site)

b) Go to the 'Structure' section of the Admin Zone, then 'Redirects', then set up transparent redirects 'from' the site zone's copy of the module, 'to' your custom zone's mirror of it.
E.g.
From Zone 'site'
From Page 'catalogues'
To Zone 'newzone'
To Page 'catalogues'
Basically what you're done here is duplicating a copy of the module into the other zone, via a 'transparent redirect'.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

The second line of the BLOCK_SIDE_LANGUAGE template must become:

Code

   <form class="side_block_form" method="get" action="{$BASE_URL}{+START,IF,{$NEQ,{$ZONE},}}/{+END}{$ZONE}/index.php">

This line will be the standard in the next patch release.

Yes !!!
New block side language is perfect. Changes your life this little thing  :P

No luck with redirects yet, tried it with every form of url I could think of but probably missed the only proper one, still sending to the original zone.

Here's an example line I put in for putting in a transparent redirect so that the calendar can work in the forum zone.
