One of our people added content to a page at our site. After they added it, the editor will no longer load to edit it further. is there any chance you can see what would cause it, the page loads on the front end:

http://www.spacomics.com/Learning/start.htm

any help on why it would do this appreciated.

Hi,

Could you provide some more details please.

If you could go to some other page, go to edit it, turn off the WYSIWYG editor from there, then go to edit that failing page, copy the page code into a text file, and attach that file here, it'd help a lot.

Have you tried different browsers, or is it just one specific one (e.g. Firefox)?

By 'freeze', do you mean the whole browser tab, or just the WYSIWYG editor won't turn on but otherwise things work?

Are there any errors in the browser error console?

I just had another look at this, to see if I could find anything without having more info.

I was able to produce a problem if I turned on the "Convert XHTML to Comcode" option. It blanked out the page, I think due to a weird bug in PHP triggered by a typo in our code. I'd recommend keeping that option off though.
Fix: 0001492: Problem with Comcode conversion - ocPortal feature tracker

Otherwise, I could not create what I'd describe as a 'freeze' in Firefox and Chrome. My test was hardly scientific though, as it was based on the HTML output, which is not necessarily exactly the same as is in the editor (i.e. it's gone through processing already).

When I first read, I didn't realise it was a Comcode page. Sending me the source to this is simple, just a copy of the Learning/pages/comcode/EN/start.txt file.

However, for now I will consider this issue resolved, as I did find and fix a bug.

I am sorry i did not return to this topic sooner. I was able to do the turning off of the wysiwyg editor in another page, then going to that page procedure, which allowed me to view the html they were trying to enter, and it was a MESS, and was obviously the problem, so I had to do some re-educating of the content-writer's thoughts on what can go into a wysiwyg editor. I am glad that a bug was found from this though…and my real problem was the education of the person trying to get the page up.
