5 - 10 sec page loads

I installed ocportal installed on my local Win7 machine that using Ammps for a wamp package.  But I noticed the site/pages load very slow.   I believing this is probalby a Ammps issue, and not ocportal's fault.  But I would not know what to check to speed things up.

But should it be running slow at all on a local machine? I would think page load should be almost instantaneous.

I do have a VSP currently as well, and will work to install things there as well to test.

Thanks
PT.

I have noticed poor performance on Windows machines myself. I think one issue seems to be slow disk access times on Windows, compared to Linux or Mac, and ocPortal has a lot of files. You can try tuning the settings from config_editor.php to turn off some disk checks. If you could somehow install APC it would probably help a lot too.

I added ACP to my php configuration, but haven't seen any real increase in speed.

It could be windows, or even just this machine/laptop doing something.

I have some VPS hosting I can use to test out OCP there as well, and will try and upload and test later tonight if I can.

OCP seems very powerful, but right now, I'm just lost in the admin zone trying to find things.

I can't even figure out to change the default theme yet  :$

Did you run the setup wizard and let it uninstall unnecessary addons?
