I am just thinking about getting vbulletin since a site I go to says its really good.
Although it is 180 usd so not sure.
Any way I saw it was on the list but then again so is phpbb and xmb and I know you said xmb is no longer supproted and phpbb 3 I know does not work with ocportal.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

The latest version of vBulletin we've tested on is 3.6, so I don't know about 3.7. In version ocp3 you had to turn something on in info.php to make 3.6 work, but in ocp4 it should work out-of-the-box. So I don't know if 3.7 works, but 3.6 should.

phpBB3 is supported in version ocp4.

p.s. What list are you looking at? We removed XMB from the feature list quite a while ago, and I'm wondering if we have one up somewhere that has become out-of-date.

I am looking at the list on the main page at the very bottom.

Code

Requirements
ocPortal will run on virtually any commercial web hosting account. It requires only modest versions of PHP and mySQL on the server, and GD enabled - this is standard on almost any Linux server, and most Windows servers. If running on older versions of PHP (4.x.x versions), it requires a minimum memory limit of 12MB.

If you'd like to link a website into an existing community, we support integration with phpBB, vBulletin, Invision Power Board (IPB), Burning Board (WBB), Simple Machines Forum (SMF), WowBB and XMB - and others on request. We also provide our own integrated forum software (no separate install required).

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

Not to sound stupid but whats Nuances?

Oh and why is ipb 2.3 not on there?

I see xmb 1.8 on there.

Oh and I think it would be nice if that was in the faq. Like under compatible forums scripts or some thing like that. I see we still need a little work on the docs I will look through them more and see how hard it is to find other things.
cuz I honestly could not find it but after you showed me I found it but did take a while.

Thanks

Oh and remember to add phpbb 3 to that list.

Also where it says:
When you are provided web-hosting, you are usually allocated a 'hosting control panel' that runs software such as:

    * Plesk
    * cPanel
    * Ensim
Add directadmin.
Its the one I am using and really nice.

'Nuances' - nuances - definition of nuances by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Thanks for pointing out the anomalies. I'll update those.

The FAQ is only for truly frequently asked questions. We rarely get someone asking us what forums are supported, but if it happens more it will get put on there. The problem is if we add more to the FAQ, it becomes less useful because it's harder to work through.

I will add Directadmin to the list. It seems to have become more popular since the list was written.

I get your point on the FAQ.
Maybe an easier way to See what forums are compatible although you do have it on the main page, just with out version numbers so maybe its ok.

What I have done (not uploaded yet) is put a note " (and general requirements and compatibility)" after the link to the "web hosting" tutorial on the tutorial index. That should have been there before really.

I expect most new users would see it from the features page though.

However all this said we may be updating our website anyway, so it is something I will bear in mind :).
