So... I'm having some issues with this module.

I tried subscribing for testing purposes it tells me...

"A subscription confirmation message has just been sent to email@address.com."

Then I checked my email to see, and I have no emails. I tested it with 3 different email addresses with no luck.

I decided to maybe go a different route. I thought perhaps I could set up a usergroup and when I send emails, I could send it to those who would add themselves to this specific usergroup.

Admin Zone > Tools > Newsletter > Send out issue

Options shows this at the bottom:

Where to send to

Send to site members
Usergroup: Member

Is there a way to change the "Member" usergroup to the other one I want?
And what is "1 reader."? Is that me as admin?

So lost with this... lol

Thanks,
Eric

Does this solve the problem?

There was a bug in the newsletter block. It was originally used to send out a custom email to each sign-upper then we changed it to not need to have one of these but forgot to put the standard confirm email back in that case.

Regarding usergroups, it only shows groups with members who can receive the mailings. Members can only receive mailings if they have an email address entered into their profile.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
