permissions on catalogues don't seem to work

I changed permissions to member groups to let them add/edit catalogue entries, but only enable/disable "view" seems to work. It seems only Administrator has permission to ad catalogue entries.

Also catalogue is not shown in Content Management, only to Administrator.

Group permissions also seem not work for CEDI.

Seems to work when I tested it now. Do you have any strange config, like maybe you've set it up as a M.S.N.?

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your fast reply.

I set up a new catalogue and tested it with "local" users.

The strange thing is when I add the user to a second user group (new user group which didn't exist in ocPortal before), it works fine. That makes me confusing.

I will investigate what might cause that behaviour and will keep you posted.

Thanks.

Odd. I wonder if the other group had been set as a club, in which case it would not have permissions.

The users belong to a Rank Set like "Local Hero" or "Old Timer". When I set permission to allow adding catalogue entries, the users still don't have permission to do so.

After adding a new user group, adding the same permissions to the new group and adding the users to the new membership as additional usergroup, everything works fine.

The user groups do not belong to a club.

Could you attach a screenshot of the screen where you set the catalogue permissions.

And the user was definitely in Local (and not e.g. Local Hero?). And not in probation also?

That's correct.

Don't worry, it's not that critical for me, because I found a workaround with the second user group which is working as expected.

I will continue to investigate by myself and will keep you posted about my findings

Just posted another issue with the comcode tags, this is more critical to me  O_o
