disclaimer: I'm still quite new to programming

I love your WYSIWYG editor so much I'd actually like to use it to allow my site members to post their own content on my site.  But I'm not sure how to go about enabling it on a specific section of code I wrote in php.  Basically, I have a block running on a page I created, showing all of the form values I want the user to fill out.  However, in 2 of the input values I have textareas currently, to allow the user to input extended information such as job descriptions and a summary but I want to replace these boxes with the ocPortal or ckeditor WYSIWYGs. I saw in the notes that ckeditor was what was built in to ocPortal.

I want them to be able to use the WYSIWYG editor instead of just a standard text box.  Could you possibly point me to the right area as I don't mind learning myself but I have been running into trouble trying to get 3rd party editors to work before asking for help.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
