dummy users for security testing

Hey, I'm fairly new here and really impressed with the software's potential!

I'm trying to create some dummy accounts on a server configuration I'm running off a USB with XAMPP (it's working fine) I was just wondering if there were a way to create a few dummy accounts to test security?

I would like a few accounts more than just the test account that seems to be there already as it is for a Youth organisation and stringent control of user access would be beneficial! However testing is required for posterity…

I have tried adding Users, however it doesnt seem to want to register without a confirmation email working?

I'm sure I've just missed an option or feature somewhere… I'm still familiarising myself with the interface!

Cheers

Admin>>Setup>>Configuration>>Member and forum options
  • scroll down to 'Usernames, passwords and member accounts'
  • third box from end of that section - tick 'No confirmation of member e-mail addresses'
That should take care of the email validation thingy.

Also, you can SU as a 'Guest' (in the footer) to see how a 'non-joined' user views the site/page(s).

Take my advice. I'm not using it!
