I went ahead and updated a site that I had set up using 7.1.6.  When I went back to the site earier and tried to view my profile to make changes to my admin notifications I got the following error:

Code

of this as you are staff. If you believe this is a bug in the website software, please
contact ocProducts with full details. More details are available in your browser's

I've now properly documented the fix at:

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks Chris,
I had to run yesterday, so couldn't post the actual lines out of the error log, in fact, I had to google how to even find Firefox's error log.  I had just located the error console, copied and pasted the errors in to a text file, and was about to visit here to post them.  Once again you're a step ahead of all of us.

hi Chris,
That seem to do it, however when I went back, after clearing FF's error log there's still some css errors.  Is anything any of us should be worried about?

Code

I know different browser's have different css support, or at least at one time did.

No, there'll be lots of those, and more in the future. It's a fact of life of emerging standards and the need to work around IE bugs using proprietary IE bugs.
