Upgrade to 8.1.1 error

seems this upgrade is giving me problems.
I clicked on it from the admin panel and my ftp info was still saved in it from last time (just like everytime I upgrade)

It says my login info is incorrect and says something about nonstandard ports.

None of the ftp info has changed, and I've re-entered it a bunch of times.
I've even connected myself through the ftp program and it works fine.

But it won't let me do anything on the upgrader.php page this time because of that error message. It has the error at the top of each page, and when I click to do anything it take me to my main site except instead of the news I see an ftp login box with the same error message. I then re-enter my ftp login info and it redirects me to the mainpage as it normally is -- not the admin area, not the upgrader page.

Nothing has changed on my end so I'm not sure what's causing it.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Could it be some kind of firewall, or DNS problem on the server?

Are you sure you need FTP? If the server is SuExec you can blank out the FTP details and login without them.
