Hi again. I was on vacation for some time and now I am back to my website.

I have now another problem. My friend reported that he cannot create an account now. Probably I have done something wrong. But now it is like this.

If you go to the website's address, you just get blank page with "Done" on IE. Its the same on firefox.

If you go to the www.address.com/Site, you are taken to the login page. Well when you dont have an account you click on create an account and you get this page:

Can you help me with this

I'd first recommend that you clear your caches:
In the Admin Zone, click on the 'Tools' tab, and use the 'Cleanup tools'.
Second I'd recommend that you check that none of the .tpl files in themes/default/templates have somehow become empty (web server failures have been known to result in blank files on occasion).

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hmm,

I have cleaned the caches, checked the templates, then upgraded to versions 3.1.4 and 3.1.5. But even when I am registered user I cannot open the title page from the http://testas.klajoklis.lt/. Instead I must go to http://testas.klajoklis.lt/Site

What can be wrong?

Do a 'redirect' from Critical error to Critical error and anybody typing the first addy will automatically be directed to the second URL.

But with your settings it appears you don't wish to have ANY visitors viewing your site, so unless they register (after being redirected to the second URL) they still will not see anything.

You will need to give 'Guests' view access to the site so that they can take a look at what's on offer before they decide whether they wish to register or not.

Once registered, even if your current settings send them to Critical error, they will automatically be redirected to Critical error.

Problem solved?

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

If you'd like one of the staff to investigate, please post temporary FTP access details in a support ticket.

Hi,

Something in your custom TOP.tpl was causing a problem. I'm not sure what exactly, but whatever it causes output of the template tree to halt.

I've removed a chunk of code from your template and things now function.

But before it worked without any redirection.
I still get blank page in the root address.

By the way, I have checked the permissions. They seem to be OK. Or maybe I dont understand something here? Chris, Could you come and set the permissions to default values, please. There is something beyond my abilities :-(

I already started to think that I have modified too much (language, different themes, different sections) maybe I need clean reinstall :-(

That's strange - it did fix when I was testing it before. I think you've reinstalled now, so I'll have to leave this be. It may be helpful for you to know that adding &keep_theme=default onto the end of an ocPortal URL will force ocPortal to use the default theme. That helps in debugging.
