Hi,
I am unable to upload icons for my calendar event types, my news categories, or my newsletters.  The upload box is there, but it is disabled.  I've choosen NA and clicked on clear, but nothing happens, and if I try to save it without an image I get an error.  Am I missing something.  Could my screen reader not be seeing something?

OK!  It is an accessibility issue.  I got my wife, which is sighted, to sit down with me, we turn my screen reader off, and reloaded the site, and am able to change images.

Hi,

Yes, the new uploader in 4.2 uses Flash so I can understand.

If you'd like to disable it, you can via putting this command into OcCLE:

Code

:set_value('no_swfupload','1');

Alternatively disabling Javascript should do it, but I doubt you want to do that.

I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

I have the same problem - cannot upload anything through any web interface.
Tried three browsers (Opera, Firefox, Flock) - doesn't work.

By "putting this command into OcCLE" I suppose you mean - press the ">ls" link, then enter that into the prompt there. I did - no change, can't upload…
Can I just disable this flash upload for the whole site?

That command does disable Flash upload for the whole site.

However I did forget to mention you need to empty the template cache after doing it.
