I am new to this fantastic CMS and it cover the needs for my current project. I'm finish to installed now and started to add a new catalogue, and filling the required fields; but when I clic on "Add catalogue" button a popup message inform me that "Please check back over the form - you did not fill in all fields on the form correctly".
The informations inserted in Content Management > Catalogues > Add catalogue are:

* Title - Personal
* Codename - personalcat
Description - personal catalogue
* Catalogue display type - field-maps
Is Tree
* View reports - never
Permissions - leave all default

I don't understand where I missed or wrong input.
Thanks a lot for your help.

Sorry to ask the obvious question, Silvio, but did you create the 'fields' for the catalogue?

That error usually shows up when you've omitted (forgotten) to add the fields …

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Probably a usability issue if it didn't auto-expand the first field for filling in, I'll look into that.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

No, it doesn't auto-expand. I've fallen into the trap many a time, so I think I was best placed to answer Silvio's question!

I agree, in fact, when the popup with the advice appear, when you clic on ok button the page roll up, so I pay attention to the fields that I previously filled.
