After logging out as UserA, I try to log in as admin but I am being logged back in as UserA. I have not used the 'Remember me' option at login. Something is wrong - these log-ins should not be persistent.

EDIT: I noticed that ocp_session is not being destroyed at logout. Shouldn't session cookies always be destroyed at logout? However, even after manually deleting the session cookie, I am still being logged in as UserA.

Okay, this is intermittent.

If I log in by going to the adminzone and then log out, things work properly. I can't replicate it now so this is closed as far as I am concerned.

But I am still interested in knowing if the ocp_session cookie should exist after logging out.

Sessions are a bit of an odd concept. They are more tied to the particular computer accessing the site than the user, although sometimes sessions will be 'resurrected' if a cookie-logged-in-user returns (even from a different computer).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks for the answer, Chris.

I haven't had the issue occur again so I am just assuming it was a one-off due to me likely having another window open or something like that.
