Hi,

Do you have the PHP CURL extension installed?
It's required for the Twitter integration.

I'll make sure this is better documented (it's currently in the hosting tutorial, but people might not read that).

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hi,

Assuming your password is correct,  please also make sure that…
  1. The news category is accessible by guests
  2. The news you are posting is validated

Hi Chris,

It says that guests = view access is ticked.
Under the article it is ticked as Validated, when I check it.
Also re done the password again, to make sure.

Hi,

I've just changed the functionality to work without CURL (uses the ocPortal URL downloader instead, which I had to improve a bit for this particular purpose) and it is working nicely on my computer – if you try 4.3 final when it's out you may find it just starts working. CURL can be a bit weird sometimes.

Update on this issue…. Well I am still stumped……

Here is the twitter address https://twitter.com/homeedtasmania
My understanding is that it all should be showing on my twitter account what is in the news section.
is is a specific news category or still I am not making sense of it… Slav
