Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

seed_hex missing

We keep getting to step 10 of setup and have the following error messages returned, either: Header_Text missing (it isn't) or seed_hex missing.We've checked every box, entered text where needed. Using the go back arrow gives you a page expired message. Suggestions?O_o

Hi Mark,

Are you experiencing any connectivity problems that might have made you have to click refresh or press enter again in the address bar?

If you're the same Mark I installed ocPortal 4 yesterday I can step through it for you on your site and see if I can reproduce the problem. I'm taking some time off today, but I will commit some time later on to this.

Hi Mark,

I just did a quick test and it worked (I tried skipping the seed step, changing the seed, and also leaving the seed as the default), but of course you are having a problem so I want to work out the cause :).

Could you let me know a process that reproduces the problem for you. For example, if you just go through clicking proceed each time without making any changes at all, does the error still come up?

Our records say you're using IE7. Is there anything particularly special about your browser or network that you're aware of?
