Hi, I'm a newbie at OCPortal and so far, I love it! I'm still not entirely used to your .tpl format, which is making it hard to decipher. Right now, I'm trying to mount a site banner and it's giving me some grief.

My goal is to get rid of the logo altogether, and upload a temporarily- header (until I can design a better one) measuring 980 X 200 pixels. I’ve been using the video tutorial as a guide, but I’m guessing that with the release of several updates since it was designed, the coding changed enough to make finding what I need to delete (from header.tpl) a challenge to the untrained eye.

After uploading my header and adding it to global.css, there is no noticeable difference in appearance to the page.
However, after deleting the logo alignment in global.css, this is how the site appears:

When I delete this snippet from header.tpl:

Code

I get this:

How can I display this banner in its entirety and, as an added bonus, how can I make it clickable to the homepage?

TIA

Hello Khaleeka,

for the hight of the header you can check the global.css of your theme. Look for this code:
Remove the section for header!

Code

{+START,IF,{$NOT,{$MOBILE}}}
.logo {
float: left;
}

/*
Commented out by default.
If you enable it will turn off the standard logo and replace it with a big header image.
Don't enable if banners addon is still installed

Find how to edit the referenced "header" theme image by doing an Admin Zone search for "header"
*/
.logo_outer {
margin-bottom: 8px;
width: 980px;
height: 380px;
float: left;
background: url('{$IMG;,header}') no-repeat !important;
}

.logo_outer * {
display: none;
}
