I want to change the title on the Galleries Block

I want to change the title on the side_root_galleries Block from 'Galleries' to a name that reflect the subgallery listed below it. It seems like I should be able to use the parameter:

title="MyGalleryName"

but it doesn't seem to make any difference, perhaps this parameter not supported with this block. What am I doing wrong?

Well-settled

Hi,

You'll need to change the BLOCK_SIDE_ROOT_GALLERIES.tpl template, changing {!GALLERIES} to MyGalleryName.
Then you'll probably need to empty the block cache.

…change the BLOCK_SIDE_ROOT_GALLERIES.tpl template, changing {!GALLERIES} to MyGalleryName
I had not done this before and was looking in STYLE/MANAGE THEMES/EDIT TEMPLATES thinking I could just rename the file there. No success.

So I used FTP and copied the file 'side_root_galleries.php' and changed it's name to 'side_root_paleo_gallery_pro.php'. Made sure the permissions were 755 like the original .php file, then cleared the block cache and went to the block assistant and sure enough the block was there under SIDE BLOCKS so I inserted it in the side panel normally and clicked preview with great expectations.

Then I got this error message…

There was a problem retrieving the XML data:
500: Internal Server Error.

What did I miss? I didnt change any of the internals of the php code. Is this server side issue?

Also get this stack trace:

An error has occurred

Missing class: Block_side_root_paleo_gallery_pro (version: 4.2.2, PHP version: 5.2.11, URL: /~prehisto/data/preview.php?page=start&type=step2)

Here is the stack trace:

Below is a stack trace revealing the state the software was in when the error occurred. Please note that merely posting a stack trace is not sufficient for us to solve your problem; the stack trace is just an aid that presents us with additional information. We still need to know the error message, what you tried to do, how you tried to do it, version numbers, and any other appropriate information.

Your SQL database won't recognize the one you made. You could probably just delete it and the errors will go away.

duder911's way works.

I see I misunderstood duder911's instructions - I need to change the {!GALLERIES} IN the .tpl to my specific Gallery name. I will try that. For some reason I was thinking that renaming the 'galleries' portion of the .tpl file he indicated

…d'oh!

Now my problem re-enters the room because I want to have the side panels show the 3 (for now) different galleries. How would I do that??

I have tried to place |box="Paleo Gallery Pro" type="panel"||/box|- above the BLOCK_SIDE_ROOT_GALLERIES but it doesnt look so good. You can see the heading on the top gallery isnt as connected as on the lower gallery. What causes that I don't know. The coding is identical.

I do have a space between the two galleries but that is on purpose.

Please try this version of the PHP file. It introduces a {TITLE} parameter that you can use like you originally wanted to.

As for boxes fitting together, this has been problematic if you add spaces between them, but 4.3 will be smarter.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I downloaded the file and put it in /SOURCES/BLOCKS then cleared the block cache. I added the block code below to my side panel;

|block param="paleo_gallery_pro" title="Paleo Gallery Pro" zone="_SEARCH"|side_root_galleries|/block|
I didn't see any change. The header still shows "Galleries"

Thanks to you and the staff for all the help and for making ocPortal such a great CMS+ product, looking forward for that 4.3!
