Two questions please

1- If I messed up the default theme can I get a clean copy to fix the problems even if I already made a diff theme?

2- My logo is not showing up in my emails sent out to members. I have two sites where one site is no problem, but the second site doesn't show an image, which I may think is related to question 1. If I can use the default theme putting it back in place May this fix everything>>?

If you want a clean copy of the default theme for your version of ocPortal, just download the manual installer for that version, and extract the default theme directory. :)
You'll have to clear your caches once it's in place.

Three more things of note…

1) If you're editing the default theme using ocPortal's own tools, it'll edit everything as an override – you can just go and purge the themes/*_custom/* files, and clear caches, to get back to the default theme.

2) If you did restore the default theme files, you'd need to make sure the permissions for the theme subdirectories were also set correctly as if you were performing a manual install.

3) The mails go out with the logo/trimmed-logo theme image, as it's in a different styling. It may be that you haven't customised this image.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Great thank you for the help…

Is there a list somewhere of how you all actually labeled things so it is easier to associate them with where they are at?

Look in the login box and choose 'Template Tree' from the drop down list. It shows you what is used on the screen you're viewing, how they're composed, and allows you to edit them with a previewing facility.
