theme image ends up in default theme directory

I cloned the default theme to cook up my own. The changes I made to global.css are displaying fine but when I manage the theme images, my uploads end up in the default theme directory, not my new customised directory. The images do not display.

I chhmodded my theme directory to 777 but it did not help.

What do I need do to do to upload to the right directory and have them display properly ?

Thanks in advance !

Hi,

How did you "clone the theme"? If it involved copying the directory, that's not the best way as it could complicate upgrades (as any template changes we make wouldn't be applied as every template would be overridden in the theme).

Are you sure you're adding the theme image to your new theme? Again if you copied the directory, I think they'd both be labelled as 'Default theme' (due to the theme.ini file giving the same theme name).

that must be the explanation. How can I fix this ? Am I supposed to start a theme from scratch ? what should be in the theme.ini ?

ocPortal has all this functionality built into it's Admin Zone interface.
