First, I want to say thanks for such a great tool. I plan to ultimately do a custom skin for my site but this tool allows me to at least make some color changes so that the site is not the standard ou-of-the-box bluen theme. Kudos to the developers.

I have noticed a couple of oddities which I thought the developers may want to fix as time permits.

The first item is that the gradient does not smoothly transition to the background color in the neater using the Comcode quote tag. Here is what it looks like in the default template:

and here it is as the Theme Wizard is run:

The nest item is buttons which remain blue rather than having their color adjusted:

In the category list:

The forum buttons:

The last item is the choice colors for forum background elements. First is the forum description which retains its blue color:

and then there is the general color of the forum background which retains it dominant blue instead of green or the brown like in the panels:

Hopefully, these can be addressed in the future but, overall, I am really impressed with the results of using the wizard.

This doesn't look right. We use the Theme Wizard tonnes, and these are quite blatant errors. Is it running off the default theme, or off your own theme?

First generation (i.e. from 'default'):

Second generation (i.e. from the above 'pink'):

As you can see the quote background issue happens on a second generation theme wizard theme (similarly, the colour to the right of the logo isn't perfect). I think this is a mathematical artefact of multiplied imprecision.

However the other issues aren't there.

It was running of my own theme which was the theme created at installation with very minor changes. The only change to global.css that I recall making was the addition of the following:

Code

.fp_col_left {
    float: left;
    width: 76.5em;
}

.fp_col_right {
    float: right;
    width: 13.3em;
}

I will rerun the Theme Wizard using the default as the source and see what happens.

Thanks for your help.

I think I may have found the cause actually.

As you suggested, the Theme Wizard works fine when using default as the source.

I don't recall ever running the Theme Wizard on my previous 'custom' template which was the template created at the time of installation as I recall. Certainly, it looked the same as the default theme.

I guess I'll just use the theme based on the default theme and add my changes.

I'm still puzzled because I don't recall ever changing any of the theme colors and they my 'custom" template looked the same as the default.

Well, if you post a fix, you have a willing guinea pig here. While I'd like to get this done, I can work on other stuff for a while. I still need to create the logo.

Yeah I'm a bit lost too. I did find one imperfection though, the seed not being saved into the theme.ini and thus it having to fall back to autodetection, so that's going to be fixed. To be honest we didn't particularly expect individuals to make a lot of use of choosing different source themes, it is more like an enabler for when there's hopefully an active themeing profession around ocPortal.

I'm going to just re-implement my changes in the theme based on the source. There's less than a dozen of them so it won't be difficult.

When you get around to fixing the one (or more) issues, I'll be happy to test it out.

Chris-

It looks like you have a change included in 7.1.4. Does it address any of these issues?

Thanks for your help.

It fixes storage of the seed properly in new themewizard themes, but that wasn't necessarily what you experienced.

Confirmed that the issue still exists with the commode quote tag - the gradient end color does not match the solid background.

It would be nice if this was fixed as it would keep any existing tpl and css changes in the new theme making it easier to do simple color changes to present to the user.
