Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

Hi,

You'll need to be a lot more specific in the report for us to figure out what is happening.

Were the photos added as attachments? What exact settings were used? Were they invisible to all users, or just non-admins? Is the user using precisely the same process that admins are? When you say "don't appear", do you mean like an "X" shows where the image should be, or it is like the image was never added? When you add the attachment, does it put the placeholder in the form, or does nothing happen? Can you show step-by-step what is happening via a screencast?

I ran a quick test myself on my development site and all was normal.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Yeah, let me explain better
The photos weren't added as attachment, they were posted by facebook users, "super members profiles", who copied from another site and just stuck to my site.
i Notice that only Admins Accounts can post news with pictures, and the picture will Appear on front end of the site, for this reason i think that has a configuration to enable other accounts too, when the others user "non admins" posts some news with photos, on the front end of the site, the pictures just don't appear as they never will be pasted on the post

Ensure your users have the "Subject to a more liberal HTML filter" privilege. Without this, only whitelisted HTML will be allowed, potentially breaking a lot of copy&pasted stuff.

"Subject to a more liberal HTML filter" should be secure because there is still a blacklist filter in place.
