Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.


The "Order" field is being sorted alphanumerically for catalog entries

Catalog entries are being sorted alphanumerically (1,10,11,2,3,4…). Either the field should not strip a leading 0 or the sort should be numeric.

Ah, I wasn't aware of this, but in hindsight it's an obvious problem. We store all catalogue fields as text, so MySQL will sort them accordingly.

The attached fix will add in leading zeros so that the database sorts them right, but it won't display them.

Another homerun…works perfectly.

One suggestion for improvement in the future is to add the sort order field to the table in "Edit".

Just had this problem  (v7.0.1) with one of my "sequential number" order fields.

I'm assuming that the reason that its not working for me is that a similar padding patch needs to be applied to auto_increment.php. Correct?
