I am putting this in as a note I don't know if its a bug or what yet but I had a whole lot of contact us messages in my forum. Most of em (2 pages worth) were blank they had titles like General_message_5342681990 (or something like that) I mass deleted the 2 pages and have a topic count of -15. Don't know what to make of it and it doesn't bother me but I thought maybe I should report it. BTW this is a recently upgraded from 9.0.7 to 9.0.8

The topic counts can get out of sync due to the way they are cached. You can refresh them by going to the Website cleanup tools page and checking Topic in the De-cachers section.

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .

I can't reproduce these ones, so possibly it is since-fixed. The main_contact_us.php block seems to stop empty posts proceeding through the dispatch code, and does a CAPTCHA check. Deleting topics resulted in correct counting.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
