Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

Sorry, does not have access to use the 'block' Comcode tag (usage blocked).

Changed some Usergroups

Ok.. now i am totally confused..
I jsut removed some usergroups (basically everything but Administrators and "Newbie" (yet renamed it)) and then edited the Staff page (removed the "Contact us" line) - well, here we are now:

Welcome to {$SITE_NAME*} - Alphaclan

Restore your 'Guests' and you shouldn't have this showing up. Unless, of course, you don't want any visitors at all.

And then I have to wonder why you built a web page?

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Usergroup Guests (ID1) is still there (and untouched), forgot to mention that one above.

Hmmmmm…..

It sure has me beat. I suspect a lot more 'editing' was done to reach this stage. It even states that:
… does not have access to use the 'block' Comcode tag

And it certainly isn't parsing the {$SITE_NAME} element.

Perhaps a member of staff will have a better take on this …

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

STrange…
I was just cleaning up my member groups and then editing the staff page… nothing else in between. INterestering was, that it all began to be messed up when i edited the line that said, that anyone could apply for a staff job if he clicked on "contact us"

I dont really get it.
I reinstalled the portal software and just removed the admin user from it as well as removed the leaderboard box from the main site and got the same error all over again.

If you delete the user that owns a page you will end up disassociating it's permissions. You'd have to go to it and edit it again to have a new administrative owner.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Yeah best to keep it. You can rename it if you want.
