Category A and B linked/visible on different page than forum page?

Greetings,

I debated about opening a new topic for this versus asking in the "Zones" topic, but since I am thinking this is a little different type of question, I figured 'd ask here.

A long time ago I was shown the great power of being able to summon different forums with the spell "virtual root". Using virtual root, I could easily take say, the Deploying forum, and link to it in my menu. The redirects ensured that it functioned as it should.

However there has been one thing that I have been trying to figure out, and that is how to use the same type of process to get forums to appear on their own page, and then link to their own page. And not just a forum mind you, but a forum category, or three.

Here's what I am thinking…

I have right now a pretty organized forum set up for my RP forums. I have the following categories.
The Summit This is my staff only category, made for staff only discussions and dealing with reported posts and the like.

Gathering at Cardinal Point This is my community forum so to speak, a forum where members get together and talk about things out of character (not in role play) and such.

Era of Torment This is the in character, post to play category. This is where all of the forums for the different areas of role play reside for this particular RP. You see, the entire name for the RP would be Legends of Nor'Ova: Era of Torment. There are 6 RP forums and a ooc forum for discussing this category.

Well this is all working good and all, but here soon I will be adding to the site. Pretty soon I am going to add a section dealing with the tabletop pdf book that will be fore sale from the site. I will be creating a category of forums for that for a place to announce book related news, discuss and ask questions, and so on. I will also be creating a section on the site to offer a player finding service and a role play via chat where they can get together and use the pdf to simulate table top role playing when/if they can't find any people to play with, and will be wanting to save rp transcripts on site for viewing/archiving/and use. The Era of Torment category was so named so that in the future we could add other RP's to the forum role play service if desired.

Anyways, what I am wanting to do is something like this.

1.) Create a zone; codename eraoftorment; title Legends of Nor'Ova: Era of Torment.

2.) In this zone, using virtual roots or whatever, I want to be able to place in the categories Era of Torment (and maybe others).

3.) I then want to create a zone for the book.

4.) In that Zone, I want to add in the forum category for the book.

I am looking for a way not to just make a link to the category on a page, but to show the category of forums on the page, is that possible?

If not, is it possible to make a link to the category desired that would link only to that category and it's contained forums? And be able to show my own menues and what not (likely by ustilizing a different zone) in that method?

Right now, it looks like the only way I can do things is to link individual forums. I could use such a link I suppose in different zones, but I am trying to see if I can do it via categories instead of just individual forums. As far as I can tell, you can't make a forum category a virtual root, unless I am missing something…

Well, I managed to solve this myself.

I discovered that I can put a forum as a child of a forum and have them in different categories to give the category look and feel.

ie…

Forum b, c, and d, are sub forums of Forum a.

Forum b and c is in category a, forum d is in category b.

Forum a is made as virtual root, and linked to a menu that appears in a special zone I created.

When you go to that link, it opens the page to that virtual root (forum a) and the sub-forums in their different categories gives it the look of a full fledge forum index. It is just made of awesome!
