Created a zone for the displaying and interacting of blogs, have a question on it.

Greetings,

Deciding to expand on the features of my site as well as promote the blog system of ocportal and gain some experience in creating zones for a future larger scale project later down the road, I created a blog zone on my site.

Now the idea for the blog zone was a place for blog posts to appear. You could go into it, see the latest blog posts, read them, search for more blog posts, and even write a blog post (using the Add News item link). I wanted to also separate blogs from news, and have only the site news directed to the front page, and all blog posts published to the blog page.

Here is a link to what I have done for example…
The Nor'Ovan Accounts - Legends of NorOva

Now you can see that most of the site menus and stuff are there, like on the front page. I also have a New/sBlogs category menu, but for some reason it will only show "General"

How do I fix that to show instead each blog category?

Now, I have the site set up so that each member can have their own blog. I realize that their blog category isn't officially created until they open their blog editor link from their personal zone, or add news item.

Well I created a block there that is the main news block, but set up to only pull from blogs. I can't remember but I think the setting was 1? Anyways whatever it is, I know that it is the right setting because it only pulls blog posts. Furthermore I have the front page main news block set up to only receive news items and not blogs. So far, all good.

Well the problem comes in that I have to set the categories, or so it appears. If I do not set the categories for blogs to be pulled from, nothing gets published to the page. However the only categories to choose are categories that are already created. So if a member hasn't created a blog yet or even opened the blog page just out of curiosity, despite being a member, they don't yet have a blog category. Therefore if they do this after I have made said block, and write a blog post, it won't be published to that page because it doesn't yet pull from their category. That leads me to my second question.

How can I set up the news block on my blog zone so that it will pull from future created blog categories?

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciative. I am sure I am missing something small here, so help me open my eyes to it. Thanks!

That seems to solve it and adds a nice little blog viewing thing at the bottom! Thanks!
