On one of my gallery pages which list a number of galleries I have an odd thing happening. It is between the 4th and 5th gallery link from the bottom of the list. Between the names Velizar Simeonovski and Vlad Konstantinov.

Just a note: I added the last 4 gallery links on the page tonight.

Oddly enough a space occurs between these 2 gallery links. Why didn't ocPortal automatically create a line between these links as it has for the previous 20 links? If you notice, ocPortal automatically created lines above "xx test" and "xx test 2" and "xx test 3" but not Vlad Konstantinov. I believe when you add the gallery the link is created with the dividing line added above the link.

To understand what I am saying you need to look at the page (BTW there is no banner by the 3 "test" links because I did not provide one - don't be distracted by that).

At first I thought there was some limit of 20 gallery links allowed but on another similar page I have 21 gallery links without a gap between link 20 & 21. In addition to this I added a gallery link on the similar page tonight too and it looks normal!

I am baffled, what do you think is happening and how can it be fixed?

It seems to be a bug in ocPortal's HTML truncation code (which it uses to produce summaries). It causes some invalid HTML that cuts off the page a bit. I'm looking into it now.

Should have a proper fix in 5.1 final but for now I can tell you that putting <br /> instead of <br> in your gallery description XHTML should fix it. ocPortal isn't responding well to the invalid XHTML.

Chris, I am having a hard time finding the <br> tag references you are describing. If you saw some please give me a clue as to where. Where ever I looked it was <br /> typically.

When you said "gallery description", do you refer to the page where I am getting the space showing up or other pages elsewhere?

The description of the subgallery immediately before where you see the missing break.

I still never found the <br> tag without the slash BUT I DID FIND a div that was closed after the "{+END}" - it was out of order… so once that was fixed everything fell back into place.

but I am still oblivious to what you saw in the description, I kept looking but only found the out of order div?
Thanks.

lol. Ok, well I was inspecting it in Google Chrome and copied the code and maybe Google Chrome gave me it in HTML instead of XHTML and I put that into a test case and it failed as a result. Well then, I did fix a bug, but not yours, which wasn't even a bug at all.
