Helpful feedback

Hi,
Thanks for offering a product with such a rich feature list.
This first section is a couple of (little?) things which might drive others away, so you may never see them.
  • The Captcha image on reg form is a bit hard to read, my entry was right the second time.
  • The form is not "sticky" (Firefox 3.5, Windows), so everything had to be entered twice.
The above comments won't keep me away :thumbs:, I'm needing a response to the second section, please.
^^^^^^
MyBB is a great forum software, glad to see you are including it!
  • Overall the set-up worked well.
  • So well, I was really disappointed at the final result.
Minor issue:
Dual-login logout worked really good, except when logging out from MyBB, I was always still logged into ocPortal.

Major Issue:
Points were added when posting in the forum; Nothing was deducted after a points store purchase (i.e. Buy sticky thread -> Works on the MyBB side / Thread is promoted -> No points deducted from ocPortal balance.
Same for a "text message" purchase made, no points deducted.

1) I'm assuming the points store "normally works" (ran out of time for a default install), so is this an unreported bug with MyBB integration?

2) The logout (from MyBB) could be temporarily fixed with a MyBB template change which points to the ocPortal logout link, but I'm also doing a multi-logout with other scripts.
Where can I find a setting (or core code :|) for adjusting the ocPortal logout redirect & can variables be easily passed?

3) I'm willing to spend time looking at your docs, can I please, also, ask for an easy way to rename the displayed name CEDI to Wiki, is there a fairly easy way?

Thank you very much.

3.) CEDI to Wiki

Admin Zone > Style > Language

In Language File, find CEDI.
From there, you can change all instances of the word CEDI to Wiki.

^^^
Thanks Eric, that helps..

1) Points w/ MyBB as a member-base.
I just found this in the point-store docs:
  • topic pinning (OCF only)
The pinning actually works with MyBB just the points aren't deducting (even for purchases unrelated to the forum)

For logging out, currently there's no way to do a redirect of choice, but we'll add it to the next version. In pages/modules/login.php change the logout method to this…

Code

   /**
    * The actualiser for logging out.
    *
    * @return tempcode   The UI.
    */
   function logout()
   {
      decache('side_users_online');

      $title=get_page_title('LOGGED_OUT');

      $url=get_param('redirect',NULL);
      if (is_null($url))
      {
         $_url=build_url(array('page'=>''),'',array('keep_session'=>1));
         $url=$_url->evaluate();
      }
      return redirect_screen($title,$url,do_lang_tempcode('_LOGGED_OUT'));
   }

Then you can include a &redirect=whatever parameter.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

For the points bug (technically, bug setting faked CPFs) in sources/forum/mybb.php change:

Code

      $this->connection->query_update('users',array('ocp_'.$field=>$amount),array('id'=>$member),'',NULL,NULL,false,true);
to:

Code

      $this->connection->query_update('users',array('ocp_'.$field=>$amount),array('uid'=>$member),'',NULL,NULL,false,true);
