Tried doing this with the permissions attached to both entities, but it hasn't worked out. Anyone got an idea of how not to list chatrooms (except to staff for moderation purposes) which are being used by a shoutbox. Seems silly having them there in the list of chatrooms when they have Shoutbox in the title.

Also, has anyone ever managed to create a chatroom as part of the Club creation process. If so, please share the knowledge. I know it can be done manually, which is fine also :)

There's no built in option for the chat filter thing, although could be done with advance templating (adding some logic to filter out a particular chat room from the template). I couldn't tell you how without doing it myself first ;).

As for clubs, no. v10 will have something called "aggregate content types" which are like clubs on steroids, but very much for power users (you can write XML to define how collections of content types can be made together from a single form).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

v10 sounds legendary, and a good reason to get my head around XML a bit more.
