Hello,

I have installed OcPortal from Softaculous on my hosting, and enabled the new short URL system, [.htm] and saved,,, but nothing happened ?

tried to clear the cache and browsed the site to see change in the url but nothing happened !

I un ticked it and activated the old short URL and it worked fine and pages were cut to the formate of [site.com/pg/]

does the new system have an advantage on the old one,, that i would be better if I used it.

Thank you

Nothing happened? Do you mean the site broke, or it just continued to use the /pg/ URLs?

ah, you need both turned on. The short-URL option turns short-URLs on, the new-style option changes them to be new-style.

When I enable it , and add a new zone, which .htaccess file do I modify and what do I add?

Can I not just add all my required zones and then enable the short URL?

If you look at recommended.htaccess you'll see it's got all the preexisting zones listed in the rules in there, just follow that pattern.
