Well-settled

Hi

I have a site I've had for a while using the /pg/start etc short URL's and I want to enable the new style short URLs.

I can enable them and receive no errors, everything in the welcome zone works fine but any pages in a sub zone for example I have an about zone and the links when I add them to the menu tries to go to /about/start.htm which I think should be correct.

However when i view the page it says it can't find About and asks me to add it. This is ok but i don't really want to create this in the root zone.

So anyway I understand I need to add something to the .htaccess but not sure what. I can add 301 redirects to go from the old URL's to the new ones so i don't lose any SEO value but I'm not sure what i need to add to make it so the pages in the various zones work.

for example

/ZoneA/start.htm
/ZoneA/1.htm
/ZoneA/2.htm
/ZoneA/3.htm

These would all say they cant fine "ZoneA" and ask me to add it.

Would be very grateful if you can tell me what i need to do. I am planning a full overhaul of my website and want to make sure i can do this before i start.

Cheers in Advance.

Well-settled

For example i have a page currently at

Code

http://thenewhut.com/Tech/pg/start

what would the rule be to make it understand that when i turn on the proper short URLS that

Code

http://thenewhut.com/Tech/start.htm

is the same page instead of giving me a 404.

Can anyone help?

Take a look in .htaccess and spot the pattern of zone names
