Out of curiosity, is it difficult to set up OCP in a separate directory, get it configured and tweaked the way you want it, then move the whole thing to a different directory or server?

Wasn't sure if it took 'current path' as where it will always be and stored it away in some config or db.

So as not to make another thread, I should add to my question….

Is there a list somewhere of what all the addon's that come with OCP are/do, and if they are needed or not?

Hi Arbo,

I've set-up ocPortal in sub-folders several times, and later moved the files without any problems.

I installed OCP in a directory called ocp (you could name it anything you want), got things working the way I wanted and then simply downloaded all the files in that directory to my local machine. I also exported a copy of the database.

I then uploaded the files to the root directory, in my case public_html, created a database, made sure the entries in the info.php file pointed to the database and base url.

I think the only problem I had was with a couple of links. That was easily fixed.

Here are instruction on how to clone a site: How to clone your ocPortal site - ocPortal.com .

Its essentially what psydoc described with the main difference being that it creates the database via a fresh ocp install rather then manually.

The only thing that it does not copy is the cron settings (i.e. that calls the cron bridge).

Do you have a Samsung Galaxy S / Galaxy S II ? If so, why not check out my ScreenFree FM Radio .
