Is it possible to set the Main Forum Topics Block to display the Forum Root?

What I'm looking for is a shorthand version of the Forum for the Front Page but when I set the MFT Block to Forum root it just says currently no topics in this forum.  Any ideas?

It is, but you've found out why it can't solve your problem. This block shows only topics, not subforums.
A coder could use the ocPortal API to knock up a new block, but I realise this isn't an option open to all.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

 I was wondering if that wasn't the case.  Well crud.

Might be something for you guys to consider in the future.  Some way to display the Forum Root on the front page might be nice.

As I've been working with the MFT block I've noticed something a little odd.

When a new post is entered it reorders the topics and it changes the time of when the last post was entered but the "by line" is always the same and matches the person who started the topic.  Was this intentional or just an oversight.  It would seem to me that reporting the who and when of the last post would be more useful than the when of the last post and the who of the topic as a whole.

Just a thought,

We'll add this to the next patch release. It'll be done by specifying a new parameter:
username_key="lastusername"
