Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

News/Blog Postings

I *finally* got around into importing a old WP blog into OCP. One thing that I noted that is needed is a mass select button, something like what is available in OCF and the polls for individual topics.

When going through over 800 imported posts, I would like the ability to delete postings via a select button, rather than individually.

Maybe I'm not clear since noone commented. There should be a select button on blog posts, like the one on forum posts, if that is clearer by my suggestion.

This is the tracker issue for this:
0000416: Mass move - ocPortal feature tracker

Some progress is made on it for v10 as you can see in the comments (recent sponsorship by a support customer). There is currently no implementation for mass deleting news in the general case (only member's own blog posts) – however it does correctly note that Webdav will be usable for mass deletion.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

OK, thanks. So how do I mass delete personal blog posts? I've been searching for a method to do this but cannot find a way to do it. I probably missed something?

Never mind. Will wait until V10 comes out. It's not urgent right now but a nice feature for V9.x users right now.

There isn't currently an official method.

However if you can find the IDs (e.g. from looking at the edit URLs), you can go to OcCLE and type:

Code

:require_code('news'); delete_news(123); delete_news(124); delete_news(125);

That would delete #123, #124, and #125.

Noted. There are way too many to delete. Will wait until V10.

Thanks!
