I experienced two problems with searching.

1) The search logic opens result page as separated iframe page after the second search (maybe this is normal behavior?):

Repro steps:

 a. perform search for any term

 b. after results are displayed, click the Search content button

 c. iframe page will not be opened as an iframe inside zone but rather as its own page.

2) The second problem is very strange because I can't reproduce it everytime and it occurs mostly on instances upgraded from v9.0.3 to v9.0.5 (maybe because they have more content, I'm not sure). Search logic sometimes returns the following critical error:

Code

Critical error – bailing out

This is an error that has been elevated to critical error status because it occurred during the primary error mechanism reporting system itself (possibly due to it occuring within the standard output framework). It may be masking a secondary error that occurred before this, but was never output - if so, it is likely strongly related to this one, thus fixing this will fix the other.

Hi,

How are you initiating the search for '1'? We fixed a bug in 9.0.5 whereby this was happening for post searching for a member, and I just found two more cases of the same issue (member content search, and realtime-rain search links). But I don't believe it is a general problem.

Regarding '2', there was an incorrect fix in 9.0.5. It fixed one case, but broke another one – there's an inconsistency in the API that I'll patch in a minute.

Hi Chris,

The result page will be opened as the iframe page in the next scenarios I tested:

1. Scenario

a) On homepage, enter search term in the simple search box in right column searching for unexisting term (e.g. blahblah or whatever :)

b) Result page with 0 results will be displayed

c) Click the Search content button

d) Separated iframe page will be opened

2. Scenario

a) Navigate to forums (i.e. Social)

b) Enter existing search term

c) The result page will be displayed with results

d) Expand the Settings section at the bottom of the page in order to show advanced option

e) Click the Search content button

f) Separated iframe page will be opened

If you need any other information please let me know.
