I want to put an RSVP link/button for each event to gauge participation, specific to each member. Is this possible? Thanks!

Just a suggestion… You could put a poll (response: Yes, No, Maybe) on your front page (or the page with the event announcement) for each event. If you use ocf for your forum and you announce your events in the forum you can have topic polls in your posts.
