Well-settled

As you can gather I am readying my site to go live, hence the reason for all the questions and posts.
Apologies if this is in the forums somewhere.

When looking in a users posts tab (or anywhere which can bring back a lot of data in one page, like member list, search etc), you are given options to change the amount to be viewed in that result which goes up incremental, right all the way up to the option to attempt to load the full amount in one page.

This bails on my site, as it runs out of memory for large amounts of data, is there possibility to remove the options which will cause the bailing by any sort of configuration that I have not found?.
I guess this depends on the server your on, or your php memory limits to the amount it can bring back, but personally I can`t see any benefit to the end user to be able to bring back the full, say 3415 members / posts I have in one page, would be nice to set this a max say 100 per page maybe.
Could I remove something to do this.

On this site here, it seems to be set to only allow 300 max per page, which makes me think its a config option, but I can`t find it on an admin search.

Thanks Mark

Only admins see the option to view all.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
