I'm trying to download and install some of the Add-ons available, such as the ocWorld and the ocBank, using the SetUp system in my Admin Zone. However, this doesn't work at all;

PHP NOTICE [8] Undefined variable: HTML_FILENAME in /home/web30521/domains/simuscape.com/public_html/sources/uploads.php on line 238 (version: 5.0.1, PHP version: 5.2.14, URL: /adminzone/index.php?page=admin_addons&type=_addon_import&uploading=1)

What is the actual problem?

I also noticed I can download each Add-on directly from the Add-on page, and then install it manually. An example;

Downloading and extracting the ocWorld gives me the following folders;

data_custom
lang_custom
ocworld
sources_custom
themes
uploads
mod (a textfile containing installation information)

Am I right in thinking that I shall put everything inside the "data_custom" folder into my simuscape.com/public_html/data_custom folder, and everything inside the "lang_custom" folder into my simuscape.com/public_html/lang_custom, and so on?

What about the "ocworld" folder? Does it go directly into my simuscape.com/public_html/ folder? Is the "mod" file needed, and if so, where do I put it?

SAC,

I've just noticed the same problem.

I usually manual-install my addons this way and it works flawlessly:

Download your addons from ocPortal
Upload the .Tar file to your site here: /public_html/Your_ocPortal_Folder/imports/mods/
Go to your Admin Zone/setup/addons where you will see it listed with a red status of not installed
Check mark and click on the Install button.
The addon manager will set the relevant folders according to the tar file.

I believe this fixes it. I've seen the error before, but not sure if a fix was posted until now.

Thanks. Will give it a try ...

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Thanks Chris!  That worked fine!   :)

Just some "tiny tiny" suggestion though; Is it possible to request a more "informative" post regarding things like this?  I took me awhile to figure out exactly where to put it, but eventually I got it right.

Sure, I've come along way already as far as learning things about websites, but far from being an expert - on the contrary.  What may seem perfectly logical to some of you with greater knowledge or being experts at it, doesn't necessarily reflect everyone elses basic knowledge.

In fact, it doesn't cost much to add;

* Download the file
* Install the file inside your "public/sources" folder
* Done

Or am I being picky?   :P

I'm usually a bit clearer, was in a bit of a rush last night.
There is one difficulty though - "public" on your server could be "www" or "public_html" or nothing at all on others (there's no real standard, depends on the hosting) - so it's not possible to be precise.

It's okey!  I didn't mean to sound negative in any means. It's just that finding at least that "sources" added as info next to the download, would make things a tiny bit easier for us with not all the horses at home in their stables…
