Hi,

I've been trying to get OCP installed for the last seven hours, and I'm now wondering whether I should delete the present install and start over.

Here's the read-out-- any suggestions? Thx. :)

******

An error has occurred

Unfortunately a query has failed [SELECT * FROM ocp5_customtasks ] [Table 'bianca2b_ocprtl.ocp5_customtasks' doesn't exist] (version: 5.0.3, PHP version: 5.2.15, URL: /doorway/adminzone/index.php?page=start)

Here is the stack trace:

Below is a stack trace revealing the state the software was in when the error occurred. If this represents a bug in the unmodified software, you may want to check ocPortal website for a fix, and if there isn't one, report this as a bug. Please note that merely posting a stack trace is not sufficient for us to solve your problem; the stack trace is just an aid that presents us with additional information. We still need to know the error message, what you tried to do, how you tried to do it, version numbers, and any other appropriate information.
We apologise for this problem and if it's a bug we hope you will work with us so that we can fix it for you promptly.

That's strange. You went through the installer as normal, then the Admin Zone just wouldn't work? Did you stop installation part way through, or did it get right to the end?

Hi,

First I spent many hours trying to get the quick installer to work; it wouldn't accept the FTP paths (and sometimes, the logins). Eventually I renamed the quick install file as install_quick.php and uploaded the manual installer. I then used Putty, and triggered the perms.sh script to chmod the files that I uploaded as part of the manual install. (In retrospect, I think I used the chmodding and install out of sequence.)

Next, having chmodded everything, I ran the manual installer. The screen went blank. I tried re-triggering it a few times; it occasionally updated me with the news that 2000/4300 files had been updated, then 4000… and then it seemed to stop.

Having chmodded the files, I went back to the quick installer; it kept stopping on Step 4, then jumped to Step 8 or 9, then informed me that a license was not being properly transmitted. (Oh, there were actually several critical failures in there as well– I've forgotten the precise term that was used.)

Ultimately, I deleted the install.php file and just went to the index; the theme and OCP default graphics showed up, but an error was also announced…

That's the state of things now…

Should I just delete and start over? Do I have to kill the DB?

Thanks.

Yikes. It shouldn't be that hard, it sounds like the server might be bogged down or have a slow disk, as well as having problems with the FTP setup.
Version 5.1 beta 1's quick installer can work without FTP if your server has Apache installed as SuExec, that might make things easier for you.

"it occasionally updated me with the news that 2000/4300 files had been updated, then 4000… and then it seemed to stop." That sounds like the quick installer, not the manual one.

"it kept stopping on Step 4, then jumped to Step 8 or 9" I will move through itself, maybe you missed it go through

"then informed me that a license was not being properly transmitted" This happens if you press enter in the address bar. It causes the installer to be reloaded without form data.

Hi,

Should I delete and reinstall, or is there some way I can fix this? (And if I do delete the files, must I delete the DB, or can I use the existing DB installation?)

Thanks.

Possibly you could go to /adminzone/?page=admin_addons then choose module management at the bottom and force some to install. But I'm not 100% sure.

There's never a need to delete the files or DB, the installer can always be put back and re-run and it will overwrite.

Hi, I'd deleted everything before I found this post. In any case, I've now re-uploaded, and have successfully installed OCP. :)
